 The Poker maxims which I will share here were in most part made by worldwide famous poker players but there are also others made by anonymous people too. These phrases express, in my point of view, some of the essence of the poker game. (♠), (♥),  (♦) (♣).

An Introduction to Blackjack card counting

 This post doesn't mean to teach how to count because it is limited, instead it is just a introduction. On internet there a various topics about card counting, just few clicks away.

 The counting strategy which  I'm going to  talking about here is called Hi/Lo, but there are others. 
The Hi\Lo is famous because  it was  used  by M.I.T Blackjack Team which, along with teamplay gained millions.
This counting strategy separates  cards in three groups: (2, 3, 4, 5, 6,), (10, J,  Q, K, A) e (7, 8, 9).  The first group (2, 3, 4, 5, 6,), are good when removed from the deck, so they get a positive count, +1. The second group (10, J,  Q, K, A), are bad when removed so they get a negative count -1. The last group (7, 8, 9) is considered neutral so they are worth 0. Higher your counting higher your advantage over the dealer.   There are other two concepts: True count: which is to divide the running count by  the number of remaining decks. And  Optimum bet: which is the optimization of your bet in based in the count.

 Este vídeo abaixo, é um tutorial básico sobre um dos método de Contagem chamado 'Hi/Lo', utilizado pelo M.I.T Blackjack team, que ganhou milhões contando cartas em casinos. Esse vídeo não abrange todos os aspectos do sistema Hi/Lo. Quem se interessar pode fazer pesquisa mais abrangentes sobre o Hi-lo card counting system e o M.I.T blackjack team, o conteúdo em inglês é mais rico e abrangente.

 Nas palavras no próprio vídeo: "Você não precisa ser um gênio para contar cartas". Esse método separa as cartas em 3 grupos: (2, 3, 4, 5, 6,), (10, J,  Q, K, A) e (7, 8, 9), a cada um deles é atribuído um valor. O primeiro grupo (2, 3, 4, 5, 6), são boas para o jogador quando removidas do baralho, por isso, a esse grupo de cartas é atribuído o valor de +1.  No entanto (10, J,  Q, K, A) são ruins para o jogador quando removidas, então atribui-se a elas o valor de -1.  O grupo (7, 8, 9) são consideradas nulas, então atribui-se a elas o valor 0. Não preciso dizer que quanto maior o número da contagem é maior a vantagem do jogador contra a banca. Mas existem outros dois conceitos que esse vídeo não abrange: True count: que é a divisão do total da conta pelo número de baralhos que estão sendo usados. E Optimum bet: que é otimização da aposta com base na contagem.
